These terms govern your use of this website and the services offered on it. Please read them carefully. By using the site, you agree to them.

Acceptance of Terms

This website is operated by the Committee to Elect Wes Rogers (the "Committee," "we," "us," or "our") in support of the campaign of Wes Rogers for Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri. By accessing or using this site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our posted policies. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

You must be at least 18 years old to make a contribution or to provide personal information through this site. By using the site, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Use of the Site

You may view, browse, and use this site for lawful, personal, noncommercial purposes, and to learn about, support, volunteer for, or contribute to the campaign.

Prohibited conduct

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the site in any way that violates an applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, other accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the site.
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or any other material that is malicious or technologically harmful.
  • Use any robot, scraper, or other automated means to access, harvest data from, or interfere with the site without our written permission.
  • Impersonate the Committee, the candidate, or any other person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Post, transmit, or submit content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, fraudulent, or that infringes the rights of others.
  • Use the site to send unsolicited communications, or to collect information about other users.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms.

Donations

Contributions to the campaign are processed through ActBlue, a third-party payment processor, and are subject to ActBlue's own terms and privacy policy in addition to these terms. When you contribute, you are directed to ActBlue to complete your transaction.

All contributions are subject to applicable campaign finance laws, including the rules of the Federal Election Commission where they apply and Missouri campaign finance law, and to any contribution limits set by those laws. By contributing, you certify that the following statements are true and accurate:

  • You are a United States citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident.
  • You are not a foreign national, and the funds are not provided by a foreign national in connection with this contribution.
  • You are not a federal contractor.
  • This contribution is made from your own funds and on your own personal credit card or bank account, and is not made from the funds of another person or entity.
  • You are making this contribution with your own personal funds, and not from corporate or labor organization general treasury funds where prohibited.

Contributions are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Campaign finance law requires us to report the name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of contributors whose contributions exceed certain thresholds.

Contributions are not refundable except as required by law. If you believe a contribution was made in error or was unauthorized, contact us promptly using the information below and we will review the matter in good faith and as required by applicable law.

Email and SMS Communications

When you provide your email address or mobile phone number, or opt in to receive messages, you consent to receive campaign communications from us. These may include news, event invitations, volunteer opportunities, fundraising appeals, and similar updates.

You may opt out of email at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, and you can reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of making a contribution or of any purchase.

We will honor opt-out requests promptly. Some transactional or legally required messages, such as a contribution receipt, may still be sent to you after you opt out of promotional messages.

Intellectual Property

The content on this site, including text, graphics, logos, the "Believe in KC." mark and other campaign marks, images, audio, video, and the design and arrangement of the site, is owned by or licensed to the Committee and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You may share links to the site and may use publicly offered materials in good faith to support the campaign. Except for that use, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the site without our prior written permission. The campaign name and marks may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission.

Third-Party Links and Services

This site may contain links to third-party websites and services, including ActBlue, social media platforms, and event tools. Those sites are operated by others and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We provide these links for convenience and do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, products, or practices of any third-party site or service. Your use of any third-party site is at your own risk.

Disclaimers

The site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.

We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the site is free of viruses or other harmful components. Information on the site is provided for general informational purposes and may be updated or changed at any time without notice.

Limitation of Liability

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Committee and its officers, agents, employees, volunteers, and vendors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

Governing Law

These terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to your use of the site are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Jackson County, Missouri have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and you consent to venue in those courts. Nothing in these terms limits rights or obligations under applicable campaign finance law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
